Robotics - About Us

Harrison Robotics, FRC Team 4521, is based at William Henry High School in Harrison, Ohio. Established in 2013, our Team has seen great success over its seven years. In 2018 we reached Quarterfinals at the Greater Pittsburg Regional Competition and ranked 17th out of the total 52 teams. Also within that year, we advanced to Semifinals at the Miami Valley Regional Competition, on top of winning a 3rd place trophy at the WOW Alliance Competition. To finish the year with flair, we competed in the FIRST National Championships: the highest competitive level in FRC.

Our team has also faced its share of misfortune. At the height of the 2019-2020 build season, as we were preparing for the upcoming competitions, Covid-19 caused the closing of schools nationwide. This was an unfortunate speedbump in our journey as it canceled the rest of our season. This year, however, we hope to come back as strong as ever, aiming for success with our 2020-2021 team.

For the current 2020-2021 season, we are comprised of 15 bright students, all enrolled in a variety of Project Lead the Way engineering classes through a partnership with Great Oaks and Southwest Local Schools. Through FRC Robotics, our team hopes to impact the community with numerous STEM programs and services. One such program is the Robotics Camp which we hold every summer, where over 90 children attend. When there, attendees are provided with mentors who teach the children how to construct Vex robots step-by-step, who then compete in a small-scale tournament. This camp represents a valuable learning opportunity for the children who attend, providing important experience in the engineering process.
