Only 9 days away from the Red Cross Mega Blitz!                                 Free Reds tickets, t-shirt and more!

Dear Friends:

We are excited to announce that the Greater Cincinnati Dayton American Red Cross is saving lives one smoke alarm at a time and we invite you to be a part of this life saving mission. In 2015 the U.S fire department responded to a fire every 23 seconds, here at the American Red Cross 90% of the disaster response work we do is from fires. Sixty-five percent of reported home fire deaths occur in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.

To help meet the families in need the Cincinnati Red Cross will be installing 1,200 smoke alarms in the following neighborhoods Madisonville, Oakley, St. Bernard, Bond Hill, Paddock Hills, Norwood, Dayton KY, Bellevue KY, and Covington KY for our Mega Blitz 2017 so we can save lives. We could really use your help to make this event a big success!

On Saturday April 29, we will need approximately 600 volunteers to go door to door installing, informing, and recording the houses we install alarms in. We will convene at Jack Casino for a morning and an afternoon shift.  More information is attached on the flyers.

If your group is interested in helping the Red Cross with the Mega Blitz please let me know.  Also volunteers can register at http://smokealarmssavelives.org/ and if you would like more information you can contact me at 513-579-3031. Food and festivities also included.  Each volunteer will receive a "thank you" bag and the first 600 volunteers will receive two free tickets to a Reds game, ticket to ride the Cincinnati Bell Connector street car, t-shirt and more.

Every day 7 people die in home fires…that’s 7 too many! Come out and support your community and help save lives.
