Taking our students to and from school each day is one of the largest and most complex responsibilities entrusted to Southwest Local Schools.

Our bus fleet and bus drivers travel over 1000 miles, in over 100 different routes, and transport over 1800 students each school day.  In addition, we offer 2 activity runs at 5:00 PM on school days for junior high and high school students who participate in extra-curricular activities.  Transportation services are also provided for over 600 sporting and academic events outside of the district each school year.  Additionally, the districts fleet includes two school vans used regularly for special education learning enrichment and life skills activities.

School transportation services are designed with the “Safety First” concept in mind. All services meet or exceed local, state and national statutes and regulations. Bus drivers are scrutinized, trained and licensed in accordance with state and national statutes and regulations. Buses are maintained and inspected in accordance with state statutes and regulations.
