ACT Information

As with previous years, our juniors will be scheduled to take the state-funded ACT college readiness examination. This year’s date will be, Tuesday, March 9th, 2027 and students on a Great Oaks campus will be scheduled to take their test at Harrison High School.

Recognizing that not all students will enter a two- or four-year college or university right after graduation, and that some students may have already taken one of these assessments during high school, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has created an opt-out option for families to exempt their high school junior from taking the state-mandated test. To opt-out, please complete and return the form found here to the Main Office by Friday, November 20th, 2026. We will also have hard copies of the form available in the Main Office.

PSAT INFORMATION

PSAT/ACT Student Presentation

This test is geared towards 10th and 11th graders. Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test that provides practice for the SAT. It also gives students a chance to enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation scholarship programs (11th grade) and gain access to college and career planning tools. The PSAT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills, writing skills.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE For Tests

Families experiencing financial difficulty and need assistance in paying for college applications or college tests (ACT, SAT, PSAT, AP) may qualify for a fee waiver. Please contact your school counselor for more information.
