Looking at the Week Ahead

Update

Happy Holidays,

On behalf of the students and staff at Harrison Elementary, I would like to wish everybody a happy holiday. The school office will be closed most of the break so that our staff can be with their family and friends. The students’ last day is next Wednesday, December 20th and they return back to school on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. For those of you who are traveling be safe and those who will be staying in town, enjoy the season and start a new family tradition.

Holiday Partys will take place on Wednesday, December 20th. Only those parents who have completed the background check form will be permitted to attend. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.

Congratulations to Ms. Plank’s 4th grade class for collecting the most items for the clothing and food collection. As a school we collected over 5,400 items. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Due to the shortened upcoming week there will not be another parent email blast till we return after break.

Don’t forget you can now follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Please make sure you are members of the correct sites. There were several “unofficial” sites created and we are trying to inactivate them. I have been posting a lot of pictures of events happening at Harrison Elementary. Feel free to send them out to family and friends. This is a great way to keep up on events at school.

We have had a great start to the new school year. The students are demonstrating our Four Core Values – Trust, Respect, Ownership and Leadership – throughout the day.

Have a great weekend!

PTO Santa Shop

Thank you to all the parent volunteers (moms, dads, grandparents, and special friends) who helped with the PTO Santa Shop. The students had a great time shopping and I hope you enjoy the gifts that were purchased. A Special thanks goes out to Santa himself for being here at school each day helping our little shoppers. Harrison PTO Elves were very busy this year and will begin shopping again for next year right after Christmas. If you know of any clearance items or gift bargains, please contact the Harrison PTO.

PTO Planning Meetings

PTO meetings this school year will take place on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 pm in the school cafeteria. The next PTO meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 22nd, 2024.

You can now join PTO. Just your small membership fee of $10 helps us provide services for the kids! This does not require you to volunteer or attend meetings. It is all up to you how much you would like to be involved. If you have any questions, please reach out to a board member.

Joining the PTO is not a huge commitment and often looks like 1-3 service hours a year with opportunities in the evenings, during the school day or can be as simple as signing up to send in cookies for an event.  Everyone doing a little adds up to a LOT for our kids.
