Update

The Holiday Food & Clothing Drive CONCLUDES Today! Thanks to all the families who have donated items. Final counts will be announced today at the end of the day.

Don’t forget you can now follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Please make sure you are members of the correct sites. There were several “unofficial” sites created and we are trying to inactivate them. I have been posting a lot of pictures of events happening at Harrison Elementary. Feel free to send them out to family and friends. This is a great way to keep up on events at school.

We have had a great start to the new school year. The students are demonstrating our Four Core Values – Trust, Respect, Ownership and Leadership – throughout the day.

Have a great weekend!

PTO Santa Shop – All next week

Once again, the Harrison Elementary School PTO will be sponsoring a Santa Shop for our students to purchase holiday gifts for their friends and family. Please review the schedule below to find the day and time for each classroom. Items in the Santa Shop range from $1.00 up to $10.00. It is suggested that each student come to school, on their shopping day, with a gift list (on the other side of this page). This will help your child with their purchases. Approximate amounts for each gift recipient would also be greatly appreciated. Cash and checks will be accepted. Checks can be made payable to Harrison Elementary PTO. A preliminary schedule has been attached to this email but there are some slight changes coming. Your child’s teacher will let the class know of any switches.

Parking

When dropping off your child in the morning or picking them up in the afternoon please make sure everybody is utilizing the crosswalk. Safety is our number one goal and by utilizing the crosswalk to get across the street students will be safe.

Please do not block the crosswalk area and be especially careful coming into the parking lot off Broadway. Students and parents walk across this area and have the right-away. When entering the parking lot please make sure that no students and parents are coming across the crosswalk.

When in queue to enter the parking lots, please do not block the bus entrance on Elm Street. Parking on Broadway is a perfect location to meet older children after school versus entering the pick-up queue.

Please pull up to the next car when picking up your child in the drop-off area.

Please feel free to park your cars in any available space at dismissal versus waiting in the pull-up line. Cars waiting in cue are blocking other cars from exiting the parking lot.

PTO Planning Meetings

PTO meetings this school year will take place on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 pm in the school cafeteria. The next PTO meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 22nd, 2024.

You can now join PTO. Just your small membership fee of $10 helps us provide services for the kids! This does not require you to volunteer or attend meetings. It is all up to you how much you would like to be involved. If you have any questions, please reach out to a board member.

Joining the PTO is not a huge commitment and often looks like 1-3 service hours a year with opportunities in the evenings, during the school day or can be as simple as signing up to send in cookies for an event.  Everyone doing a little adds up to a LOT for our kids.
