Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame
The William Henry Harrison High School Alumni Association is proud to announce the start of a new Harrison tradition – the William Henry Harrison High School Distinguished Alumni Award!
Nominees will be considered based on three main criteria: their academic career while at William Henry Harrison High School, their post-high school endeavors/successes, and their contribution to their community (Harrison or elsewhere) after high school.
We recognized our first group of Distinguished Alumni at halftime of the varsity boys’ basketball game on Friday, February 2, 2024.

Dr. Melody Hall Hartzler '04
Inducted 2024
Dr. Melody Hall Hartzler has developed a passion for functional medicine and treating the underlying causes of disease. Her focus areas are functional gastrointestinal disorders, nutritional deficiencies, metabolic conditions, and autoimmune conditions. She is also a nationally recognized speaker on diabetes and functional medicine. She is currently Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Specialist (BCACP), and is Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM). She is the owner of PharmToTable, LLC, where she develops continuing education for pharmacists at FxMedCE.com and provides a platform for functional medicine telehealth visits. She is passionate about working as a team to change the landscape of pharmacist provided care. She is also the Director of Clinical Services for Profero Team, LLC.
In addition to leading a team of functional medicine providers, she does spend time in clinical practice serving patients in Ohio via telehealth and in person in the greater Dayton/Cincinnati areas to address a variety of chronic conditions with a focus on diabetes, insulin pump management, and functional gastrointestinal conditions.
She is a graduate of Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy and completed her residency training at Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center. Her functional medicine education has come from a variety of different conferences, educational programs, and clinical experience. She has completed Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP) from Institute of Functional Medicine and completed a Fellowship of Anti-Aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine (FAAMFM) with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).

Amy Storer Scalia '00

Amy Storer Scalia is a 2000 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School. In 2007, Amy Scalia founded Cincy Chic, an online lifestyle publication for women in Greater Cincinnati, which now has more than 32,000 opt-in subscribers, and six years later launched its sister publication Cbus Chic. She sold her company in 2018 to a regional publishing firm and they’re now growing the concept in multiple other markets.
Today, Amy works for one of the largest media conglomerates in the world, Sinclair Broadcasting Group. She’s an on-air host on Local12, Cincinnati’s CBS affiliate, with a weekly segment running every Wednesday on Local12 called “Amy on the Go,” a monthly home show called “Refined Living“ and a BRAND NEW weekly show launching in April 2024 called “Cincinnati Refined” airing every Saturday on WKRC. She’s also managing editor of Cincinnati Refined, the station’s online lifestyle publication, featuring local people, places and services.
Her major life accomplishments include: being a mom of three amazing kiddos (after battling infertility for years), being a “40 Under 40” recipient from the Cincinnati Business Courier, winning the “Best New Product/Service of the Year” Award from the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce, a national Web-writing award from ASHPE and national feature writing award from ASBPE, running three Flying Pig marathons, and recently launching a foundation with her husband called the PSNEVERGIVEUP Foundation, which provides resources and grants to those with chronic illnesses seeking fertility treatments.
Amy Searcy '79

Amy Searcy, lifelong resident of Hamilton County, born in Harrison, seventh child of James and Margaret Searcy, graduated from W.H.H.H.S in 1979, the last of all her siblings to graduate from Harrison. Amy then went on to graduate from Xavier University and Salmon P. Chase College of Law, No. Kentucky University and shortly thereafter began her dedication to public service.
Amy practiced Criminal Defense Law as a Public Defender, was a Municipal Court Magistrate and the Director of Hamilton County Board of Elections before becoming a Common Pleas Judge in the Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations in 2014. For the past three years, Judge Searcy has continued to additionally serve as Administrative Judge responsible for oversight of all aspects of the Court’s operations.
Judge Searcy believes in giving back to the community. She is currently a Hamilton County Great Parks volunteer, and she has served on multiple Master Plan Committees, the City of Harrison Planning Committee, the Harrison Tree Board since 2010, and the Great Parks of Hamilton County Master Plan Committee. In 2020, she was named “First Lady of the Community” by Xi Eta Iota. This year Judge Searcy was appointed to the Conservancy Court of the Miami Conservancy District, an honor bestowed upon only one common pleas court judge from each of the nine counties included in the Miami Conservancy District; protecting the tributaries and Great Miami River from pollution and maintaining the integrity of the river banks.
Amy is married with two children, seven grandchildren, and four dogs. She is a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church and Chair of Reach Out Pregnancy Center.
To sum up: Judge Searcy, a product of Harrison Community and her parents, has dedicated her life to the preservation of life, trees, nature, justice, and a devotion to God. She is thoroughly honored by this recognition from W.H.H.H.S.’s Alumni Association.
Phyllis Wilson Wolf '56

Phyllis Wilson Wolf is a lifelong resident of Harrison, OH and a proud graduate of Harrison High School (class of 1956). The day after graduation, Phyllis was asked if she would be interested in becoming the secretary for the Harrison High School principal, Ralph Sinks. Phyllis worked as the Harrison High School secretary to the principal for 30 years. Phyllis was then offered a job in the Southwest Local District Treasure’s office, where she served for 37 years. In June 2023, Phyllis Wilson Wolf officially retired after working for the school district for 67 years. During her 67 years, she never missed a day of work. To this day, Phyllis will work part time when needed at the Treasurer’s office.
In 1958, Phyllis married Bernie (Skip) Wolf. They had two children named Terry and Diane. The also had three stepchildren named BJ, Kathy and Johnny (deceased).
Phyllis is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harrison, where she has had perfect attendance for 71 years.
Phyllis has been involved with many community memberships and committees. She has volunteered for too many things to list. Harrison residents appreciate her dedication and work in the community.
The most important things to Phyllis has always been family, her church, the Harrison community and her job with Southwest Local Schools. Phyllis feels blessed with good health and has always loved what she gets to do.
