WHHHS Update-May 2, 2025

Dear William Henry Harrison High School Families—
We have made it to May! We are excited for this year Prom tomorrow evening, and when we return Monday, we start our annual AP testing, followed by all of the Class of 2025 celebrations and events leading up to Graduation. We will have a lot going on in the next three-and-a-half weeks! Please see the information below:
Parent Square
Parent Square has now been rolled out to families! The implementation of Parent Square is a direct result of last year’s Parent Survey where families indicated their desire to eliminate multiple communication platforms and apps. This will accomplish that request, allowing a single district-wide platform to be used for all communication.
You received an email from Parent Square with a link to register your account. (You may need to check your Spam folder to find the email). Click the link in that email and follow the instructions to register your account. You also received a separate email from the Southwest Local School District with more in-depth information about Parent Square, directions on setting up your account, and a video on how to use Parent Square.
Two weeks ago, students received an email on their MyWildcats.org email address allowing them to register for Student Square, the student version of Parent Square. They should follow the directions in that email to register their account and enter their cell phone number, which will allow them to receive weather-related closing/delay information and other emergency notifications, like they now receive via School Messenger. This will also be the way coaches and club advisors will communicate with students, replacing apps like Band, Remind, TeamSnap, etc.
If you have any questions regarding Parent Square or Student Square, please email parentsquare@southwestschools.org.
ProgressBook Information
As we work through the fourth quarter, please take some time to review your student’s grades in ProgressBook. You and your student can also set up alerts for low grades and missing assignments as well. Please feel free to contact your student’s teacher, guidance counselor, or an administrator with any questions. Our expectation is that grades are updated in ProgressBook once per week and that any email or phone call is returned within 24 business hours.
Here is a video on how to set up Missing Assignment and Low Assignment Marks Notifications in the Frontline Parent and Student mobile app v1.0.2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi5QanEAhoM
If you are experiencing problems accessing ProgressBook, please reach out to us at parentaccess@southwestschools.org.
Shower With Kindness Drive – Next Week!
Student leaders at Harrison High School are once again spearheading the Shower With Kindness hygienic product drive to support students within our district. In its fifth year, Shower With Kindness has collected over 10,000 items and donated hundreds of dollars towards personal hygiene care and education for students during the summer months.
Collection takes place May 5th - May 9th in all SLSD schools. Students may bring packaged hygiene items to their homeroom or first bell with a district-wide goal of 2,000 items. For those who would prefer to donate online, the district-wide donation platform is linked here: https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/39365
Please reference the attached graphic for examples on what can be donated. I know this is a busy time of year for all of us, but personal hygiene is a tool all students deserve to have access to. Please contact Molly Hasenohr (molly.hasenohr@southwestschools.org) with any questions. Thank you for your support!

This ceremony will celebrate students who will continue to be involved in the Arts at a collegiate level with signed letters of intent. If this pertains to you, please complete the form found here by Monday, May 5.
Possible Grief Support Group – Companions on a Journey
Companions on a Journey is willing to offer a school-based Grief Support program where students can process complicated feelings of grief and loss, connect with a caring community and build a toolbox of critical wellness and resiliency skills. COJ collaborates with over 70 public, private, and parochial schools to provide monthly grief support, while also responding to school crisis situations. COJ work alongside administrators and counselors to build a grief-sensitive culture where bereaved students and staff feel loved, accepted, and supported.
We need to know if you are interested in this support for your student. If there are enough students interested in this offer, the group would begin in the Fall ('25-'26 school year). If this is something your student would be interested in, please fill out this form or email Sandy Kauffman at sandy.kauffman@southwestschools.org.

Stay Connected
Get your updates straight from the source! Follow our official school and district level social media pages, listed here, for the most up-to-date, factual information. For questions or concerns, call the school or email the appropriate administrator or staff member directly. Let's work together to make it a great school year!
Extracurricular Activities
Our district goal is that 100% of our students will participate in at least one extracurricular activity (club, group, or sport). As we start the fourth quarter, we are at 92% participation among our student body. We want all of our students to connect with at least one extracurricular activity because research consistently connects involvement with higher achievement, and because high school is just better when you are a part of something bigger than yourself! Our school newspaper, The Paw Print, has highlighted the growing list of all of our clubs and groups here.
Join the Marching Band!
Do you like to perform, travel, and be a part of something amazing? Join the Marching Band we have positions available in all sections and color guard. If you are interested, please see Mr. Egan as soon as possible to get updated information. You do not need any experience, we will show you the way.
Graduating Seniors with CCP Credit
Students that have earned CCP credit have to have transcripts sent FROM the university they earned the CCP credit TO the university they are attending. THIS IS TO BE DONE IN JUNE AFTER FINAL GRADES ARE SUBMITTED. Universities will NOT take the CCP credit from the high school transcript, it has to come on an official transcript from the university awarding the credit. If you took a Franklin University class here at the high school, please see the message below on what to do in JUNE to request your transcript sent to the university you will be attending.
- Seniors can request their official transcripts and check the status of their requests here
- If a student needs their Franklin Student ID to request transcripts, they can reach out to us at ccplus@franklin.edu
- Courses that have not yet had the final grades post will NOT appear on the transcript. Students should make sure that they either request the transcript to be sent after all final grades post or wait until courses are complete to avoid having to request transcripts multiple times. If a student needs a schedule to confirm that they are currently in the course, they can reach out to us at ccplus@franklin.edu
