WHHHS Update-May 16, 2025

Dear William Henry Harrison High School Families—
We have wrapped up AP testing for the year and our Seniors have celebrated their last day! We had a great day on Wednesday with our annual Wildcats Give Back Day, as our students completed a wide range of service projects in and around the building as well as off-campus. We are down to just six days remaining for our underclassmen. Please see the information below:
Parent Square
Parent Square has now been rolled out to families! The implementation of Parent Square is a direct result of last year’s Parent Survey where families indicated their desire to eliminate multiple communication platforms and apps. This will accomplish that request, allowing a single district-wide platform to be used for all communication.
You received an email from Parent Square with a link to register your account. (You may need to check your Spam folder to find the email). Click the link in that email and follow the instructions to register your account. You also received a separate email from the Southwest Local School District with more in-depth information about Parent Square, directions on setting up your account, and a video on how to use Parent Square.
In April, students received an email on their MyWildcats.org email address allowing them to register for Student Square, the student version of Parent Square. They should follow the directions in that email to register their account and enter their cell phone number, which will allow them to receive weather-related closing/delay information and other emergency notifications, like they now receive via School Messenger. This will also be the way coaches and club advisors will communicate with students, replacing apps like Band, Remind, TeamSnap, etc.
If you have any questions regarding Parent Square or Student Square, please email parentsquare@southwestschools.org.
ProgressBook Information
As we wrap up the fourth quarter, please take some time to review your student’s grades in ProgressBook. You and your student can also set up alerts for low grades and missing assignments as well. Please feel free to contact your student’s teacher, guidance counselor, or an administrator with any questions. Our expectation is that grades are updated in ProgressBook once per week and that any email or phone call is returned within 24 business hours.
Here is a video on how to set up Missing Assignment and Low Assignment Marks Notifications in the Frontline Parent and Student mobile app v1.0.2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi5QanEAhoM
If you are experiencing problems accessing ProgressBook, please reach out to us at parentaccess@southwestschools.org.
Southwest Local Schools Is Now Hiring Cooks for 2025-2026
Southwest Local Schools is searching for several new cooks to add to our food service staff for the 2025-2026 school year. Cook positions are only three hours each day from 10:00am-1:00pm or 10:30am-1:30pm. If you are looking for a part time position that allows you to interact with our students, become a part of our school community, or just add a bit of extra income to your household, this position may be for you! Since the hours are during school, there is no need for baby-sitting before or after school or on non-school days as long as your students are in school for the full-day. These roles are also perfect for retirees just looking for something part-time to get out of the house. If interested, or if you know anyone who may be interested, please consider applying at the following link: https://www.applitrack.com/greatercincinnati/onlineapp/JobPostings/view.asp?FromAdmin=true&AppliTrackJobId=41261
Parent/Guardian Survey
In the Southwest Local School District, we strive for excellence through the relationships we build with all of our stakeholders. Partnering with parents is crucial for the success of our students and our school community. We value your input and would like to know your thoughts on our school climate and services. This information will help to inform our decision-making as we work to continuously meet the needs of all of our students and provide an excellent educational experience for our families. Please consider taking a moment to complete the survey found here.
Summer Office Hours
Our summer office hours will be 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM (closed 11:30 – 12:30 for lunch), and after mid-June, we advise calling before you come to school as there may be a day or two the office is closed due to vacation schedules. We will post days on which the office will be closed on the doors as far in advance as possible.
End-Of-Year Medication Information
If your student has medication on file in the Nurse’s Office, please be sure to pick it up on or prior to the last day of school (Weds 5/28) during business hours (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM). Any medication left after this time will be discarded.
Underclass Awards Day – Weds 5/28
Underclass awards are scheduled for Weds 5/28. The awards will take place in the Activity Center Theater as follows:
- 9th Grade Awards: 8:15 AM
- 10th Grade Awards: 9:30 AM
- 11th Grade Awards: 10:45 AM
An invitation letter with additional information has been sent via US Mail to all students receiving awards on this day; if a student is receiving an award but is unable to attend, he/she may pick up the awards in the Main Office any business day before June 30.
2025-26 Student Schedules
The schedule for next year is complete. We distributed student schedules on Tues 5/13 during lunch. Students have until the last day of school THIS YEAR (May 28th), to make any changes to their schedule for next year. This includes adding or dropping study halls and both 1st and 2nd semester classes. Harrison High School does not make schedule changes after the last day of school. This allows the district to properly and efficiently staff the building during the summer months. Please check your student’s schedule to make sure you are both on board with the course selection they have chosen/received. All schedule changes must be submitted by either Teams message or email to your student’s counselor. This allows us to have a reliable record of all requests.

Extracurricular Activities
Our district goal is that 100% of our students will participate in at least one extracurricular activity (club, group, or sport). As we wrap up the school year, we are at 92% participation among our student body. We want all of our students to connect with at least one extracurricular activity because research consistently connects involvement with higher achievement, and because high school is just better when you are a part of something bigger than yourself! Our school newspaper, The Paw Print, has highlighted the growing list of all of our clubs and groups here.

Do you like to perform, travel, and be a part of something amazing? Join the Marching Band we have positions available in all sections and color guard. If you are interested, please see Mr. Egan as soon as possible to get updated information. You do not need any experience, we will show you the way.
Graduating Seniors with CCP Credit
Students that have earned CCP credit have to have transcripts sent FROM the university they earned the CCP credit TO the university they are attending. THIS IS TO BE DONE IN JUNE AFTER FINAL GRADES ARE SUBMITTED. Universities will NOT take the CCP credit from the high school transcript, it has to come on an official transcript from the university awarding the credit. If you took a Franklin University class here at the high school, please see the message below on what to do in JUNE to request your transcript sent to the university you will be attending.
- Seniors can request their official transcripts and check the status of their requests here
- If a student needs their Franklin Student ID to request transcripts, they can reach out to us at ccplus@franklin.edu
- Courses that have not yet had the final grades post will NOT appear on the transcript. Students should make sure that they either request the transcript to be sent after all final grades post or wait until courses are complete to avoid having to request transcripts multiple times. If a student needs a schedule to confirm that they are currently in the course, they can reach out to us at ccplus@franklin.edu
