Grade 10 – 12 Schedule Pick-Up/Laptop Distribution
Students in grades 10 – 12 can pick up their schedules on Wednesday, August 10 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM in The Commons.  Student schedules will also be viewable in ProgressBook.  Please note that students received a copy of their schedule during the last month of the school year, and any requests to change a class were due before the end of the school year.  Currently, we are unable to make any course changes.  We are planning on distributing laptops during the first week of school.  Any student who did not return their laptop at the end of the 2021-2022 school year will not be issued a new laptop but can borrow one each day to use while at school.

Arrival/Pick-Up
Our school day is the same as last year: 8:05 AM – 2:55 PM.  Doors open at 7:00 AM and all students should report to The Commons upon arrival.  The bus for Diamond Oaks will be parked behind the High School and will leave at 7:15 AM each morning.  Students should arrive five to ten minutes early to make sure they catch the bus; it returns each day at 2:40 PM.

Please take a moment to review the arrival and pick-up traffic information found HERE.

Free Lunch for All Students Ends – Action May Be Required
For the past two school years, the USDA has offered waivers to public school food service programs across the US, allowing us to offer all students breakfast and lunch at no charge. Unfortunately, these waivers expired June of 2022. This means that families will once again be asked to complete and submit a Free/Reduced Meal Application for the 2022-23 School Year if they would like to see if their students qualify for free or reduced meal prices based on the household income of all family members. This window for applications opens on July 18 and will remain open for all families to complete prior to the start of the school year, either online by clicking HERE or on hard copy forms available at each school.

In past years, the first 30 days of a school year included a "carry-over" of a child's Free/reduced status from the previous school year. Since we had no costs associated with our food service program or most school fees this past year, that will no longer be the case. Once this application is processed (which can take a few days), the resulting student free/reduced status will carry through the remainder of the school year until July of 2023.

The cost for a basic school lunch will remain $2.60 this year and you can add money to your student’s account at southwestschools.org/foodservice.

Open House
Like last year, we will host an Open House in early November (date TBA).  This will be an opportunity to meet your student’s teachers, see all of the new updates to the building, and learn about all of the amazing opportunities Harrison High School has to offer.

PTO/Booster Organizations
Finally, we would like to invite you to join the Harrison Junior/Senior High PTO as well as our Booster organizations.  You can visit https://harrisonjrsrpto.membershiptoolkit.com/home to join the PTO, https://harrisonwildcats.membershiptoolkit.com/Home to join the Athletic Boosters, https://www.harrisonmusicboosters.com/ to join the Music Boosters and the Harrison CAT Boosters’ Facebook page to support the Vocal and Drama programs.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer and we will see you soon!
