Update

We hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving Break with family and friends. 1st semester is coming to a close and there are only 14 school days left until Winter break begins and the semester ends!  We have a lot we want to accomplish during that time, please see the information below:

Progressbook:  We cannot emphasize this enough to our families; it is important that you access and check Progressbook to help understand where your child is at academically in the classroom.  This is a main communication tool, and most teachers update it multiple times a week, but at minimum every two weeks. We want to ensure that our families have access.  If you are struggling to gain access, please contact Amy Nixon in our front office at 513-367-4169 or via email at Amy.nixon@southwestschools.org.

Students that are absent:  If your child is out due to illness, appointments, or quarantine and misses a day, have them go to their Teams page and One Note. Teachers will post daily assignments in these areas. If you have specific questions for your child’s teacher’s, you can email them. You can access these emails through the Southwest website: southwestschools.org

Final Exams:

Below is the schedule for our first semester final exams. Exams could consist of a test or culminating project. Final exams will be worth 20% of the 1st semester grade. We will have an Early Release on December 15th and 16th. The early release will happen at 11:38am on both days. Students will be free to leave at that time. For those students who need lunch, lunch will be served in the cafeteria. Students waiting on rides can wait in the cafeteria or out front on the benches. There will be no school on Dec 17.

Canned Food Drive/Coats & Hats

We believe in setting lofty goals for both our students and staff, and we know how important it is to help members of our community. Our goal is to collect 5000 canned foods and raise $5000 to sponsor families in our community. This is a huge undertaking, and we are excited that we are partnering with our student council, our student leadership group, and the gathering to make this happen. Stay tuned for more information as well as announcements on our social media outlets to share how families can get involved.

In addition, the freshman class at Harrison High School continues to sponsor the coat and hat drive. Information is attached to this email regarding how you can get involved.

These are the things that make our community special. We greatly appreciate your involvement and helping us work together to make this happen.
