Back to School

Welcome Back, Harrison High School Families,

Our doors will open on September 8th, and we are so excited to have our students back with us. Our staff has been busy planning for the first day of school and taking extra measures to make sure students and staff are in a safe and comfortable educational setting. This newsletter will outline the return to school for students and also answer several logistical questions you may have about safety procedures and day-to-day school operations. The new school day will take some adjustment, but I am confident that our students will live our core values of Trust, Respect, Ownership and Leadership. Welcome Back!

Safety Measures

This summer, our district has met weekly with the Hamilton County Department of Health.  In addition, we have been involved in meetings with the State Department of Health, other school leaders, pediatric organizations, Children’s Hospital, etc.  We have taken this time to learn more about the best practices for safety, updated requirements from the State and Local Health Departments, and to seek advice from the absolute best medical and school experts.  We take this charge incredibly seriously.  We thank each of our families for working with us through this process.

Due to the Governor of Ohio’s mandate and for the safety of our students and staff, masks will be required of all individuals on campus.

Students can be dropped off whenever is convenient for the parents/guardians, but will NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER THE BUILDING UNTIL 7:00 AM, due to the need for temperature checks and screening questions.

Students can enter through the Activity Center entrance or the main entrance of Harrison High School. Both locations will have temperature check stations and screening questions will be asked, along with hand sanitizer for students to use before entering the building. Any student with a fever over 100° will be re-scanned after 15 minutes; if they still have a fever, we will contact the student's parents/guardians and the student must be picked up and return home.

Click HERE for an FAQ page that will answer frequently asked questions about new daily procedures, such as breakfast and lunch, hallway traffic, classroom set up, end of the day procedures and pick up.
