Dear William Henry Harrison High School Families--

I wanted to reach out with a few quick reminders as we prepare to welcome back our staff on Monday 8/11 and our students on Thursday 8/14!

School & District Calendar

Please Update Final Forms
Please log in to Final Forms to update your student’s information if you have not done so yet.  We are at approximately 70% updated so far this summer. This is where we pull our information for communication purposes, so please be sure your information is up to date. This is also where you will go for instructions on how to access ProgressBook.

Parent Square
Effective immediately, Parent Square is the one and only app that we will be using for communication from the district, building, and classroom level, including athletics and other extra-curricular activities. Gone are the days of needing multiple apps for multiples classes, teams, and clubs!  If you have not registered your account yet, you need to do so immediately!

You may be receiving emails from Parent Square, however, without a registered account you will not be able to interact with your child’s teachers’ posts and receive urgent notifications such as school closings and delays.  Additionally, be sure you have downloaded the Parent Square app on your phone (free in your App Store).  Students should download the Student Square app.

Those who have not yet registered their account should have received an email from Parent Square inviting you to register.  Click the link in that email and follow the instructions.  It’s just that simple to stay connected!

If you have any questions or need assistance, please email parentsquare@southwestschools.org

Student Parking
We are asking any student who plans to park in either the Activity Center (sophomores/juniors) or the High School (seniors) parking lot to please complete this application for a parking pass.  There is no charge for a parking pass, however, this helps us to track and monitor who is parking on our campus.  The application should be completed once per school year and can be turned in to the Main Office whenever a student is ready to begin parking on campus.

Arrival/Pick-Up
Our school day is starting and ending a little earlier this year!  We will begin school at 7:45 AM and dismiss at 2:45 PM.  Doors open at 6:45 AM and all students should report to The Commons upon arrival.  Students should not remain in the building after school hours without teacher supervision.  Students who are not involved in a supervised after-school activity shall be required to be in the high school supervised Commons area or must leave both the high school and the Activity Center by 3:15 PM.

The bus for Diamond Oaks will be parked at the main entrance to the High School and will leave at 7:15 AM each morning.   Students should arrive five to ten minutes early to make sure they catch the bus; it returns each day at 2:40 PM.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO REVIEW THE ARRIVAL AND PICK-UP TRAFFIC INFORMATION FOUND HERE.

Medication Drop-Off/Information
Our School Nurse, Mrs. Tessa Freel, will be back in the office starting Monday 8/11 and can accept any medications for the upcoming school year.  The necessary paperwork to accompany any medications can be found here.  Additionally, if your student has a serious medical condition or concern that we need to know about, please contact Mrs. Freel prior to Thursday at tessa.freel@southwestschools.org.

First Day of School – Thurs 8/14
Students will report to their Advisory (homeroom) to start the day on Thursday 8/14.  Advisory teachers will have a copy of the students’ schedules to distribute; advisory is assigned alphabetically by grade level and we will assist any student who isn’t sure where to report!  SENIORS: students with Late Arrival will still report at 7:45 AM to go to Advisory and the first day of school class meeting; Late Arrival begins on Friday 8/15.

School Picture Day – Tues 8/19
Student Picture Day will be Tuesday, August 19.  We will call the students down for pictures alphabetically by grade level, and all students will get pictures taken for Yearbook and/or Student ID purposes.  Students will receive a hard copy order form in Advisory on the first day of school, and extra forms are available in the Main Office.   Please contact the office with any questions.

Meet-the-Teacher Night – Weds 8/20
We are again hosting a Meet-the-Teacher Night on Wednesday, August 20 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  This will be an opportunity meet your student’s teachers and get information about their classes for the upcoming school year.   Student schedules will be available for pickup in The Commons at 5:30 PM.
