On February 15, Southwest Local Schools’ A Cappella Program hosted the International Competition for High School A Cappella. Directed by Kelsey DeMange, the Harrison groups, DYNAMIX and Take Note competed against 7 regional high school groups for the chance to move on to Semifinals. Congratulations to DYNAMIX who earned 2nd place, continuing on to Centerville’s competition on March 14th, with the goal of earning a spot at finals in New York City.

In addition to winning 2nd place, DYNAMIX also received special awards for best arrangements, and Brayden Helms was awarded for Best Choreography. Harrison Wildcat pride filled the room as the show was opened by our Junior School A Cappella group, Causing Treble, consisting of 40 members. The show was hosted by alumnus Tommy Willis, headlined by alumni group Note-ably Strange, and alumnus-directed group The University of Cincinnati Toned Down. The competition was hosted in the beautiful Martin Marietta Theater to a full house.

Thank you to the Harrison community for your support, and to our students who have worked so hard to bring pride to our schools! Thank you to the volunteers, and everyone involved to make this event a great success for SLSD!
