Safety Matters

Student and Staff Safety Is Our #1 Priority

To help keep everyone safe, please review the important information below regarding drop-off and pick-up routines.

________________________________________________________________________

Car Rider Drop-Off

  • Drop-off begins at 8:40 AM in the front loop.
  • Parents/guardians may not drop off before 8:40 AM. Staff will be available to welcome your child at that time.
  • As a safety measure, parents/guardians are not permitted to walk children to classrooms.
  • AM Kindergarten arrival starts at 8:40 AM.
  • PM Kindergarten drop-off is at 12:55 PM in the front loop.

Car Rider Pick-Up

  • AM Kindergarten pick-up is at 11:55 AM in the front loop.
  • Grades K–5 pick-up begins at 3:40 PM in the front loop. After rounding the bend:
    • Kindergarten: stay left
    • Grades 1–5: stay right and pull all the way forward

SafeSchoolID system:

  • All car riders will use our SafeSchoolID system.
  • Families will receive 2 green car tags (placards) with a number that matches a tag on your child’s backpack.
  • As you pull into the lot, a staff member will enter your number into the system to release your child.
  • Please keep the placard visible at all times in the car line.
  • Tags will be distributed at Open House or sent home on the first day of school.
  • Extra tags are available in the office for $5.00.
  • If someone without a tag(e.g., grandparent, neighbor) is picking up your child:
    • They must be listed in Final Forms as an approved contact.
    • They will need to park and come inside to sign the child out—even if you call ahead.

Traffic and Parking Notes (See Map)

  • The car line is one lane until the bend, then splits:
    • Left lane for Kindergarten (see the blue line on the map)
    • Right lane for Grades 1–5 (see the green line on the map)
      • Please abide by all traffic laws on Wildcat Way.
      • Please do NOT cross the double yellow line on Wildcat Way for any reason.
  • Kindergarten parents may:
    • Park in a front spot, or
      • Stay in the left lane and park along the rock landscaping to walk your child to the door.
  • Do not block the crosswalk or walk through the landscaping. Always use the crosswalk.
  • Do not stop or park on Wildcat Way or near the playground behind the school to drop off or pick up students. It is unsafe.
  • The Grades 1–5 car line is a continuous lane (see the green line on the map).
    • Please stay in your car in this lane.
    • If you need to assist your child, please use a parking space.
    • You may use carpool or low-emission vehicle spots if available.
  • Please pull all the way forward in the carpool lane. This helps keep traffic moving smoothly and prevents backups onto Wildcat Way. Don’t worry—our staff will make sure your child gets safely to your car, even if you're further up in the line.
  • Dismissal is based on your green placard number. Numbers are entered in the order cars arrive to reduce hallway traffic and avoid backups in the front lot.

Additional Important Reminders

  • For visits during the school day, park in the main lot and enter through the front doors to check in.
  • If your child arrives after 9:30 AM or leaves before 3:15 PM, you must sign them in/out at the front office.
  • All dismissal changes must be submitted before 3:10 PM.
  • Remind your child to listen and watch for their name at dismissal and walk promptly to their assigned cone.
  • The Junior High and High School now start and end earlier, which should help reduce traffic during our arrival and dismissal times. However, since we share a campus, there may still be times we need to redirect traffic for safety. Thanks so much for your patience and flexibility!
