SLSD Health Update

Posted on: August 30, 2021
COVID

In addition to the weekly data update linked below for the period ending August 29, we had multiple additional positive student cases reported today (August 30) at Crosby Elementary and Harrison Junior School.  These cases will be listed in next week's report.

Parents must keep their children home if they are feeling ill.  There are two ways to avoid missing school and extra-curriculars due to quarantine: get vaccinated and/or wear a mask that completely covers the nose and mouth. For those CHOOSING to not mask up or get vaccinated, quarantine rules apply. Obviously, this situation is very fluid. Please work with us, not against us, as we continue to focus on educating our students face to face this fall!

When/if we see significant numbers of students and/or staff out due to COVID, we will be forced to either universally mask, or conduct remote instruction. Like last year, we will do this by building to start. It is important that families are prepared for either scenario. When there is universal masking in schools, students do not miss face to face instruction due to quarantine. As we have said numerous times, our #1 priority is safety and keeping kids learning IN SCHOOL.
