HJS Update

Update

It is the final week of the 2022-23 School Year and we are excited to close it out strong with QUEST and Grade Level Celebrations.

We have several great QUESTs happening tomorrow and we wanted to share what the day will look like.

Students will arrive at school as normal and report to their 1st Bell.  Starting at roughly 8:30, students will have the opportunity to go to their respective QUESTs.  Teachers will have a copy of our QUEST assignments as well as where students should report for their QUESTs.  Please do everything possible to have your child to school prior to QUEST starting.  It will be difficult for them to be added during the middle of the QUEST experience.

Students who are leaving campus must have a permission slip.  We have attached the permission slip to this form.  We cannot allow students to leave without a permission slip.  Please ensure that they have that completed and with them.

In addition, if there is a cost to their QUEST, please have them turn in their money to their QUEST leader.  This will cover the costs needed for them to participate.

Finally, if your child is doing a “Choose Your Own Adventure QUEST” we have their form on file.  For attendance purposes, we will use this to mark them in attendance at school.  In addition, we are asking families to send an email with a photo of their QUEST to christian.tracy@southwestschools.org.  We will use many of these ideas as we set up our QUESTs for next school year.

If you have questions regarding QUEST, please contact christian.tracy@southwestschools.org

Laptops

If your child still has their laptop and/or charger, please have them turn it into the front office ASAP.  Later this week, we will be notifying families if their child’s laptop has not been turned in and charges will apply to their account.

Summer School

If your child is eligible for summer school, you will be notified by June 7th.  Summer School will begin June 12th.  Official notification cannot occur until 4th Quarter Grades are completed.  Summer school will run 8:00 – 12:00 each school day.

A Message from Nurse Kinnett

If you have medication in the clinic please pick it up before the last day of school, medication will be disposed of after that.

If your child will be taking medication next school year, new paperwork and new medication will need to be brought in.

If your child has a serious medical condition please email Lisa Kinnett our school nurse at Lisa.kinnett@southwestschools.org or call the office at 513.367.4831

Incoming 7th graders are required to have a Tdap and Meningitis vaccine before the first day of school.
