Super Chat

The February edition of the "Super Chat" podcast is now online at www.southwestschools.org/podcast.

In this episode, Director of Operations Adam Lohbeck explains the benefits of an EPA grant which the district received, allowing SLSD to replace four aging school buses and purchase four new school buses for the price of one.  This equates to around $75,000 in savings over the life of the buses in fuel and maintenance costs.

Assistant Superintendent and Curriculum Director Corinne Hayes recaps the contingent of state leaders that recently visited SLSD.  State Superintendent Paolo DeMaria and State Senator William Blessing, among others, visited Harrison High School and Miamitown Elementary to view some of the technology and programs that make up the "secret sauce" in Southwest Local.

Finally, Mr. Hamstra provides the monthly in-depth update on the current status of the facilities project, including a wrap-up of the Community Town Hall Meeting on January 24 which provided all stakeholders an opportunity to see the up-to-date progress of the design process.
