Second Semester Update

Posted on: January 3, 2022
Important Information

Happy New Year, SLSD Families!

We trust that your holiday break was enjoyable, and that you had time to relax and build into family and friends.  We have a couple items of note as we prepare to kick off second semester tomorrow morning:

- Please click HERE for an update on COVID-19 protocols, including updated guidance from the Ohio Department of Health and Hamilton County Public Health relating to quarantines and eligibility to remain in the classroom and compete in athletic events.  Flexibility will continue to be key this winter.  Please have plans in place in case your child needs to stay home due to illness, or if a shift to remote learning would become necessary.

- With the potential for our first round of winter weather on the horizon later this week, it’s a good idea to review your plans in the event of a snow day, delayed start, or early dismissal.  We make every effort to make the call by 6:00 AM, but there are situations that require a later decision or a change from a delay to a closing.  Additionally, there are days when an early release may be necessary due to impending weather.  Please ensure that you have plans for child care lined up for these situations.  Be sure you are following our official SLSD social media channels – on Twitter @SouthwestLocal and on Facebook @SouthwestLocalSchools.  Information is also sent via School Messenger email/voice call/text messaging – if you received the test call/message on October 1, then you are set to receive these alerts.  You can also watch local TV news stations for information on “Southwest Local Schools”.

We can’t wait to see our students bright and early tomorrow morning.  Here’s to an awesome second semester!
