Looking at the Week Ahead

Posted on: November 3, 2023
Update

The Fall Fundraising items, and cookie dough will be delivered on Monday and be available for pick-up beginning at 2:30 pm. If the order is small and manageable it will be sent home with the students. Larger items will need to be picked up. Due to the cookie dough needing refrigeration, please make sure all orders are picked up by 4:30 pm after school on Monday.

Next Tuesday, students will be off from school for a teacher in-service day and on Friday to observe Veteran’s Day.

Next Wednesday, Harrison Elementary will be celebrating Veteran’s Day with our annual community assembly. Plans right now are to hold this as in years past outside in the back of the building. Temperatures right now are in our favor, but the threat of rain doesn’t look very good. If it rains the presentation will be brought inside. Community Veteran’s and family members are welcome to attend. Space will be tight if we need to move the event inside. Chairs will be available for Veterans and adults who need them. The program will begin at 2:00 pm.

Don’t forget you can now follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Please make sure you are members of the correct sites. There were several “unofficial” sites created and we are trying to inactivate them. I have been posting a lot of pictures of events happening at Harrison Elementary. Feel free to send them out to family and friends. This is a great way to keep up on events at school.

Week of November 13 – Honesty – Being open and truthful

Week of November 20 – Mindfulness – When we are present and fully engaged

Week of November 27 – Teamwork – Being part of a team and doing your share

Please reinforce these weekly traits at home and throughout the month.

School Fees

Fees have now been posted to each of your students’ account. Elementary Fees this year are $70.

PTO Planning Meetings

PTO meetings this school year will take place on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 pm in the school cafeteria. The next PTO meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 27th.

You can now join PTO. Just your small membership fee of $10 helps us provide services for the kids! This does not require you to volunteer or attend meetings. It is all up to you how much you would like to be involved. If you have any questions, please reach out to a board member.

Joining the PTO is not a huge commitment and often looks like 1-3 service hours a year with opportunities in the evenings, during the school day or can be as simple as signing up to send in cookies for an event.  Everyone doing a little adds up to a LOT for our kids.
