Harrison Elementary Update

Posted on: May 26, 2023
Update

It's hard to believe we are completing our final full week of school today. Enjoy the three day weekend ahead and we look forward to our two remaining school days on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As we get closer to summer break, please remember to pay your child’s school fees. Those students whose fees are not paid by the end of the school year will not have their names posted on class lists in August. Numerous reminders have gone home. If you have any questions, please call the school office.

Our Lost and Found space is overflowing. Please remind your children to stop by and look at what has been collected. Items not claimed TODAY will once again be donated.

To help celebrate the end of the school year a calendar was designed to highlight a special activity taking place on each of those remaining days. The activity is associated with one of the 26 letters of the alphabet. I’ve attached a link to this calendar at the bottom of this email. Please encourage your child to join in with all the daily activities. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office. There have been a lot of pictures posted to our Facebook account this week.

Don’t forget you can now follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Please make sure you are members of the correct sites. There were several “unofficial” sites created and we are trying to inactivate them. I have been posting a lot of pictures of events happening at Harrison Elementary. Feel free to send them out to family and friends. This is a great way to keep up on events in school.

We have had a great start to the new school year. The students are demonstrating our Four Core Values – Trust, Respect, Ownership and Leadership – throughout the day.

Have a great weekend!

Yearbooks

The first box of reprinted yearbooks has been received and the first 25 students who ordered a yearbook were given their new yearbook. We are waiting for the second box to arrive. Hopefully this will be today or early next week. As more information becomes available, I will keep you updated.

Super Ollie’s Sidekicks Blood Drive – Many Slot still Available

Save lives in support of Ollie. Ollie is a first-grade student at Harrison Elementary who has recently had multiple hospital stays and has needed many blood infusions. A Blood Drive in support of Ollie will be held at Harrison Elementary School, on Tuesday, June 6 from noon to 6pm, in the gymnasium. See attached flyer or by calling Hoxworth at (513) 451-0910. Spots are limited and your help is needed. See you on June 6th.

Summer Athletic and Gifted Camps

Attached to the bottom of this email is a PDF file of athletic summer camps sponsored through the Athletic Boosters along with a flyer from the Hamilton County Educational Service Center for many gifted opportunities. Contact information for each of the athletic clubs is also listed if you have questions. These are great opportunities to fill up some of the summertime off from school.

Progress Book

The Frontline ProgressBook Parent & Student Mobile App v1.0.2 is now available in both app stores.

This release will now support the ability to receive push notifications for Missing Assignment and Low Mark alerts once upgraded. Once upgraded, the app will prompt parents and students to enable push notifications on their device if they wish to receive them. This update also contains enhancements to the calendar view which allows users to further filter and collapse the calendar to see more assignments for a chosen day.

Parents and students will be prompted to update their app on their device.

Here is a video on how to set up Missing Assignment and Low Assignment Marks Notifications in the Frontline Parent and Student mobile app v1.0.2.
