Harrison Elementary Update

Posted on: February 24, 2023
Update

Next Week is Acceptance Week. Each day will have a different theme. Students have been tie-dying hats in art class all week to wear. See below for day-to-day scheduled events. You can also check out the Harrison Elementary Facebook page for updates.

Our World’s Finest Chocolate sale ended yesterday. Please send in your chocolate bar money now. We cannot determine top sellers until all money has been accounted for. After all money has been collected, prizes can be ordered.

Don’t forget you can now follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Please make sure you are members of the correct sites. There were several “unofficial” sites created and we are trying to inactivate them. I have been posting a lot of pictures of events happening at Harrison Elementary. Feel free to send them out to family and friends. This is a great way to keep up on events in the school. New pictures have been added this week.

Title 1 Reading Night – A Learning Adventure

Learning is an adventure and like any adventure, there will be highs and low, moments for students to shine, and times when they may struggle. This is part of the normal ebb and flow of any journey. Through this learning journey, we do not want to lose sight of the fact that learning should be fun and exciting! Join us for a night of laughs and discovery as we address learning through games, activities, and problem solving! We will also explore using your child’s strengths to fuel their learning! More information will be sent home shortly.

Absences and Tardies

Lately we have experienced a lot of tardies and student absences. It is that time of the year, but our State Truancy Laws do not account for seasonal absences. Letters and court referrals are computer generated after key number of hours missed. Please follow up with Ms. Miller, our Dean of Students, with any questions or concerns.

Building Character

February’s Monthly Character Trait is Fairness

Fairness - Fairness means that you treat people equally. People who are fair follow the rules.

Character Effect:

Week 2/27: Intentional- Intentional is defined as, I am thoughtful in working to improve myself and the world. Being Intentional helps us to be who we want to be in all areas of life.

Please reinforce these weekly strengths at home and throughout the month.
