Harrison Elementary Update

Posted on: February 16, 2023
Update

Just a reminder that there will not be school for students and staff on Friday, February 17th – Monday, February 20th due to the Presidents’ Day 4-Day Weekend.

Our World’s Finest Chocolate sale concludes next Thursday, February 23rd. We still have around 200 more boxes to sell. Please contact the school office if you would like to help. If you have finished selling your chocolates, please send in the money any day next week. We cannot determine top sellers until all money has been accounted for. At that time, prizes will also be ordered.

Don’t forget you can now follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Please make sure you are members of the correct sites. There were several “unofficial” sites created and we are trying to inactivate them. I have been posting a lot of pictures of events happening at Harrison Elementary. Feel free to send them out to family and friends. This is a great way to keep up on events in the school. New pictures have been added this week.

Absences and Tardies

Lately we have experienced a lot of tardies and student absences. It is that time of the year, but our State Truancy Laws do not account for seasonal absences. Letters and court referrals are computer generated after key number of hours missed. Please follow up with Ms. Miller, our Dean of Students, with any questions or concerns.

Building Character

February’s Monthly Character Trait is Fairness

Fairness - Fairness means that you treat people equally. People who are fair follow the rules.

Character Effect:

Week 2/20: Judgment- Judgment is defined as, I am open-minded and think through my decisions.

Week 2/27: Intentional- Intentional is defined as, I am thoughtful in working to improve myself and the world. Being Intentional helps us to be who we want to be in all areas of life.

Please reinforce these weekly strengths at home and throughout the month.

Bus Passes

Due to the number of children riding the bus this year, NO bus passes will be written for students wishing to go home with another student. Please decide for transportation once the students have arrived home. If bus situations change throughout the year, please complete a new bus route information sheet, and submit it to our office to be processed at District Office.
