Harrison Elementary Update

Update

We need your help!!!! The World’s Finest Chocolate sale started with a BANG and now moving into just a sizzle. We had over 800 cases of chocolates come in to sell and have only sent out around 300 of those cases. Please reconsider selling a box or another box of chocolates. Profits from this sale is helping with bringing in a guest speaker/assembly during Acceptance Week (Feb. 27 – March 3).

For additional information on the sale please see the Chocolate section below and/or call the school office. I have attached a copy of the permission slip below in the event yours did not make it home. Our goal is to have each child sell one box of chocolates and help to support upcoming assemblies and special events. Thanks for your help!! We have full boxes of just caramel and almond. Please contact the school office if you are interested in one of these specialized boxes to sell.

Don’t forget you can now follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Please make sure you are members of the correct sites. There were several “unofficial” sites created and we are trying to inactivate them. I have been posting a lot of pictures of events happening at Harrison Elementary. Feel free to send them out to family and friends. This is a great way to keep up on events in the school.

World’s Finest Chocolates

On Tuesday, January 24th we began our annual World’s Finest Chocolates fundraiser. The funds raised from this sale will be used to bring in more assemblies and programs for your children. In the past we were able to furnish each classroom (over a 4-year period of sales) a classroom set of computers to use throughout the day. Our goal this year is to sell 800 cases of chocolates. If every child could sell at least one box of chocolates, we will achieve this goal. Permission slips were sent home this week with students to participate. By signing and returning this permission slip you are agreeing and understand that the school CANNOT accept any boxes or partial boxes back once they have been given to a student, left the building and the sale has ended. If you have any questions, please call the school office. A permission slip has been attached to this email and can be used if the one from school has not made it home. All money is due back to school by 2/23/23. We have full boxes of Almond and Caramel to sell too. If you are interested in either of these two specialized boxes, please contact the school office.

Absences and Tardies

Lately we have experienced a lot of tardies and student absences. It is that time of the year, but our State Truancy Laws do not account for seasonal absences. Letters and court referrals are computer generated after key number of hours missed. Please follow up with Ms. Miller, our Dean of Students, with any questions or concerns.

Building Character

February’s Monthly Character Trait is Fairness

Fairness - Fairness means that you treat people equally. People who are fair follow the rules.

Character Effect:

Week 2/6: Fairness- Fairness is defined as, I believe everyone should have the same opportunities.

Week 2/13: Bravery- Bravery is defined as, I take on challenges and speak up for what is right.

Week 2/20: Judgment- Judgment is defined as, I am open-minded and think through my decisions.

Week 2/27: Intentional- Intentional is defined as, I am thoughtful in working to improve myself and the world. Being Intentional helps us to be who we want to be in all areas of life.

Please reinforce these weekly strengths at home and throughout the month.
