First Day Update

Back to School

Just a few couple reminders for tomorrow - The First Day of School

1. The school doors open at 8:40 am every morning. Students can either go into the cafeteria for breakfast or head directly to their classrooms. If you are walking your child up to the building, please park your car and use the crosswalk.

2. We highly suggest that if you child is riding a bus to school that they begin riding tomorrow. Bringing them in for the first day does not help the bus drivers time their routes and begin to understand all of their stops.

3. Please remember to "pack your patience" tomorrow and the first several days. Traffic will be heavy tomorrow and may take you a few more minutes to get through the drop off/pick-up areas. When entering the school parking lot off of Broadway, please make an immediate turn to the right to join the drop off lane in front of the school. When entering off of Elm, please continue into the school lot and move all the way forward when dropping off your children. It is very important to keep moving forward when dropping students off so that we can accommodate as many cars as possible.

4. It is highly suggested to be out at your bus stop 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Drop off at the end of the day could also be later than posted. We are the last school for pick-up and if the busses are running behind from their earlier routed this will affect our students.

5. Students are permitted to have cell phones BUT they must remain in their bookbags at all times. There is no reason to have them out while at school.

6. Students will be given bus tags tomorrow. Please make sure that they stay attached to your child's bookbag.

7. Due to safety concerns, parents will not be able to walk their children to their classrooms. There will be staff members inside that building and at the back loading dock to assist any student who needs help finding their classrooms. Thanks for you understanding and ensuring the safety of all students.

8. Get a good nights sleep tonight. Morning schedules will be changing for students and their families.

9. If you have any questions please call the school office.

10. Harrison Elementary is proud to announce that we have a NEW Dean of Students - Mrs. Katie Conley. Mrs. Conley is back at Harrison Elementary after a brief time away. If you need anything please feel free to reach out to her.
