Back to School

Harrison High School Parents and Students,

We are excited to get back to school Tuesday, September 8th. Thank you to all our families for being patient with us as we start back both face to face and virtual. Below you will find information for both groups:

Virtual Students

This Sunday (9/6), a video webinar will be published to our school website and social media.  This will include login information for our students, as well as a common set of expectations for our families.  This webinar was scheduled to go out Friday; however, we are still updating our enrollment as families are returning and moving into our school district.  We appreciate everyone’s patience as we begin our Virtual School.  While this program is largely self-guided, students will not be permitted to log in until the first day of school (September 8th).  I sent additional information to our virtual families in an email yesterday labeled “Important information for Harrison virtual school students.”

Face to Face Students

Below is some day-to-day information that you will need to know as we begin school. We appreciate your cooperation and patience in keeping both our staff and students safe.

  • The doors to the school will open at 7am starting Tuesday. Students should use one of two entrances, either the Activity Center entrance or the main entrance at the back of the high school. Each student will answer a series of questions and have a temperature check upon entering the building; students will then be able to go to the cafeteria (if eating breakfast) or the gym (if not eating breakfast). They will be released into the rest of the building at approximately 7:40.
  • If you did not already pick up your laptop, we will call you down the first day of classes to receive it. If you did not pick up your schedule, we will have a copy of it in the cafeteria on September 8th.
  • Make sure to wear a mask and bring a water bottle to school every day.
  • Please socially distance in the hallways and report directly to your classroom.
  • Seating for lunch will be split between the cafeteria and the gym. If you are buying lunch, get all that you need in one trip. Seniors will be permitted to eat outside (weather permitting) in the senior lunch area. By Friday, 9/11, students should have chosen a lunch seat for the quarter.
  • At the end of day, we will have a staggered dismissal with the first floor released first followed by the second floor. Please make sure you have secured your ride in advance as you will need to be off campus by 3:10 pm unless you are involved in sports or a school activity. We will need to start the cleaning process for both the Activity Center and the high school at that time.
  • Again, make sure you have your mask and water bottle every day.

Have a great Labor Day weekend, and see you on Tuesday September 8th
