Chabot Visit

Crosby Elementary was honored to receive a visit from Congressman Steve Chabot on the morning of Monday, April 29.  Chabot represents Ohio’s 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Mr. Chabot addressed the entire student body, opening his talk by reading the children’s book “House Mouse, Senate Mouse” by Peter Barnes.  The book describes the correlation between the House and the Senate in a method geared towards elementary-age children.

He then explained the voting process in the House and passed around his voting card, which he would use later in the day as he was returning to Washington, D.C. following the presentation at Crosby.

Following a Q&A session with the students, Mr. Chabot presented Principal Kiersten Rogers with an American flag that had been flown atop the U.S. Capitol.  The flag will be displayed at Crosby Elementary.
