SLSD News Update

Posted on: October 24, 2020
Important Information

By now you have likely seen on the news that Hamilton County is approaching the Alert Level 4 (Purple) designation in the Ohio Public Health Advisory System, indicating severe exposure and spread of COVID-19 in the County.  Please know that as a school district, our operations plan is not tied to the state-wide Health Advisory System.  We will continue to monitor data throughout our school district and the zip codes we serve when making decisions regarding our operations.  At this time, we have no intention of altering the education models we have in place.

On Friday, October 30 at approximately 4:00 PM, we will be sending a test message on our School Messenger mass notification system.  School Messenger notifications will be used to communicate weather delays/closings, as well as important news and reminders.  Additionally, this would be the primary means of getting vital information to families in the event of an emergency.  This test message will be sent via voice call, text message, and email.  To prepare for this test, please text the word YES to 67587 from each cell phone you have registered.  This will allow you to opt-in to receive text messages.  If you have not received the test message via phone, text, and email by Friday evening, October 30, please log into Final Forms to ensure your information is correct.  If it is, please contact your school office on Monday, November 2 for assistance.

On Monday, November 2, be on the lookout for the Second Semester Intent Form.  You will use this form to select your preference for face-to-face vs. virtual instruction for your student during the second semester.  Your selection must be made by Monday, November 9 to give us adequate time to allocate personnel and other resources.

Our SLSD Health Alerts will now be sent bi-weekly, and will cover all cases that are reported during the period.  Close contact letters will continue to be sent to families of close contacts as soon as possible after the positive test is received.  Please click HERE for the Health Alert for the period of October 22-23, 2020.
