Important Information for Virtual Students

We are so excited to start our virtual students this school year.  Our staff has been working and training on the new program to best serve our students.  We are eager to get started, and we know that our families are eager to begin this new journey.

We want to provide clear instructions for our virtual families on how to login and navigate the program.  This is important to our student to help them get off to a good start.  Our virtual students will have the opportunity to work at their own pace, but will be receiving guidance and support from our teachers.  This guidance will focus on academics, as well as pacing to ensure that students are able to finish the program on time.

This Sunday, a video webinar will be published to our school website and social media.  This will include login information for our students, as well as a common set of expectations for our families.  This webinar was scheduled to go out Friday, however we are still updating our enrollment as families are returning and moving into our school district.  We appreciate everyone’s patience as we begin our Virtual School.  While this program is largely self-guided for students, students will not be permitted to login until the first day of school (September 8th)

Over the course of the first week, just like in a traditional school setting, the focus will be on connecting with teachers, establishing relationships, setting clear expectations and guidelines, and getting to know one another.  For our virtual teachers and students, success the first week will be getting everyone logged into the program, connected with their teachers, and started on the assignments.  Know that with any new program or school, there will be hiccups.  Communication will be the key.  If you have concerns, please call our school office or email us directly and we will provide answers, and if we do not know the answers, we will work to get them to you.

We looked forward to starting this journey with your family, and know that even though your child is learning in a Virtual School, we very much see them as a Harrison Wildcat and a part of our school community.  Students on our virtual platform are encouraged to remain involved in our after school programs and athletics.  Let’s all work together to keep our students connected!
