All-Clear at Harrison Elementary After Suspicious Odor Reported
Harrison Elementary Parents and Guardians,
This morning at approximately 8:15, a suspicious odor was detected on the grounds of Harrison Elementary. As a precaution, students were held outside the building on school buses to keep warm while the Harrison Fire Department and Duke Energy crews investigated. It was determined that the odor was caused by a piece of equipment being used for tar sealing on Broadway. The building was given the all-clear by the Harrison Fire Department and Duke Energy personnel, and students returned to the building at approximately 9:15 AM. Students were fed breakfast and the school day continued as normal.
We are grateful to the Harrison Fire and Police departments for their assistance, and also to our bus drivers for keeping our students warm and safe.
