Second Annual "Day of Service" Set for Sep. 14

Posted on: September 9, 2019
Day of Service

Students throughout the Southwest Local School District will unite to make a difference in our community at the second annual "Day of Service" on Saturday, September 14.  Every athletic team, along with many service groups/clubs, churches, schools, and businesses in the Greater Harrison area will come together to tackle a variety of service projects throughout the region.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11 we saw Americans come together and show that they were there for each other. We saw neighbor helping neighbor, acts of kindness and a true spirit of service.

On September 14, which is the Saturday after September 11, we will unite as residents, students, employees, business owners, church/parish members and more, to embody the spirit of service in honor of the victims of 9/11.

We ask that you partner with us as we seek to make an impact in our neighborhoods.  Please click HERE to sign up for a project that interests you.  Additionally, please bring in your food donations for the "Not In Our Town" Mobile Food Pantry.  Donations can be dropped off in the front lobby of Harrison Junior School from 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon on Saturday.

We are very excited about this event and believe our service is a way to honor those we lost and a way to reclaim the spirit of unity that followed 9/11.
