Mrs. Tracy's Class Shifts to Remote Learning

Posted on: September 2, 2021
Remote Learning

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your child’s health is of the utmost importance. The Southwest Local School District, in cooperation with Hamilton County Public Health, are closely monitoring positive cases in our school. There are currently 5 positive cases in Ms. Tracy’s class and 17 students quarantined.

While it is our goal to keep students face-to-face, with the influx of positive cases in Ms. Tracy’s class, we are switching to remote learning starting Friday, September 3rd and will continue through Friday, September 10th. Parents may pick up student devices on Friday, September 3rd  during school hours, so your child will be prepared for remote learning.

I realize this is a short notice, but we feel that it is in the best interest of our students’ safety to reduce spreading the virus.

Please monitor your student for symptoms of COVID-19, which may include cough, shortness of breath, new smell disorder, or new taste disorder.  Other symptoms include fever (measured or subjective), shivering with chills, body aches, headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, congestion or runny nose.

If your child develops symptoms consistent with COVID-19 consult with your physician regarding next steps.
