SAFETY

COLD AND FLU SEASON

With the cold and flu season upon us, please remember to keep students home when they are sick to help prevent spread. Students must be free of fevers, vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours, without the use of medication, before returning to school. Please contact the school if your student will be out. Let's stay healthy and safe this winter!

SCHOOL DELAYS AND CLOSINGS

As winter progresses and the chances for winter weather increase, please make sure your contact information is current in Final Forms.  If you are already getting emails, texts and phone calls from your child’s school via the School Messenger Mass Notification system, you should be all set to receive weather-related information.  You can also check the District website (southwestschools.org) and the official District social media accounts for the most up-to-date, accurate information. Also, HALF-DAY KINDERGARTEN parents need to be advised that whenever school is delayed, AM Kindergarten is canceled.

ACADEMIC GROWTH

GIFTED INTERVENTION SPECIALIST

During the strategic planning process, the community expressed their desire for increased support for our gifted population.
