SAFETY

STUDENT DISMISSAL CONERN

Please DO NOT park in the BUS ONLY lane during dismissal. This is a safety issue to have students walking in front of buses. It also causes delays with buses being able to get in and out of the school to pick up students. We have newly posted signs to remind you that all vehicles should be entering into the parking lot area to pick up students. There is also a BUS ONLY sign to remind you that ONLY BUSES are to use the lane going to the back of the building. We have also posted NO PARKING signs to remind you NOT to use those spaces during arrival and dismissal. We would appreciate your support in keeping our students safe and helping dismissals run smoothly!

TRANSPORTATION SHORTAGE

We have been very lucky over the last several years and have not had to cancel any routes due to the national bus shortage. This year we are having difficulty finding bus drivers. There are a few drivers who are going to be out with surgery later in the year and we are working now to try to fill those spots so that routes will not have to be canceled. If you know anyone who would be interested in being a bus driver, you can find the posting on our school’s website.

ACADEMIC GROWTH

G.O.A.L. (Growing Our Aspirations and Life-skills) DAY

We have a new career/life-skill initiative at Crosby Elementary this year! Our fifth graders will be participating in GOAL Day on the morning of November 6th. Students will have the opportunity to select areas of interest and attend two different sessions to learn more about careers or life-skills. Thank you to Mrs. Lee for all her work to make this day happen!

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

If you haven’t had a chance to complete the SLSD Community Engagement Survey, please do so ASAP.  We really want to hear from the community!  Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdazkIzfT-8TD5fDwnO8h7RcrQ_mk4k_c-xYK3Xz1W0rPoiEQ/viewform?pli=1

POLINATOR GARDEN

We are excited to announce that we are partnering with Cincinnati Nature Center to plant a pollinator garden in our courtyard. Mrs. Hursh has been instrumental in organizing this endeavor. Therefore, the 3rd grade students will be helping to plant the garden on November 1st. All students will have an opportunity to use the garden and help maintain it in future years.

ART TO REMEMBER

Crosby students will be participating in the Art to Remember fundraiser once again this year. Individualized flyers have been sent home with your child. See the attached flyer for additional information.
