SAFETY
CAR RIDER DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
Car riders can be dropped off starting at 8:00 a.m. at the front of the school. Please do not allow your child to get out of the car until 8:00 a.m. when there is supervision and a crossing guard. For security reasons, you may NOT walk your child to their classroom. We will have plenty of staff on hand the first 2 weeks to help students find their way to their classroom if needed.
If your child is being picked up from school, you should arrive by 3:00 p.m. Two lines will be formed in the main lane next to the school, and a third lane will be formed in the first lane of the parking lot. If your child needs assistance from you getting in or out of the car, PLEASE park in the lot instead of getting in the lines. If your child is not in the car when we are ready to move traffic, we ask that you circle around and get back in line.
Students entering and exiting from the far lane will be required to use the roped off crosswalk area down the middle of the lane. Please tell your child NOT to cut through the other lanes of cars to get to the sidewalk. Mr. Willig and other staff members will also be there to remind them.
Mid-day Kindergarten pick-up and drop off also takes place in front of the school. Buses will be using the lane closet to the school, so please use the far lane or park in the lot. Pick-up for AM Kindergarten is 11:15 a.m. Drop-off for PM Kindergarten begins at 12:05 until 12:15. Supervision will come outside to meet students.

CHANGE IN AFTERNOON TRANSPORTATION
If you need to change the way your child gets home after school, please contact your child’s teacher with the information if you are aware of the change before the start of the school day.
If the change occurs within the current school day, first try contacting the teacher using Clever. If you do not receive confirmation that the message was received by 1:30, call the office at 513-738-1717.
CALLING IN ABSENCES
To call in a student absence call 513-738-1717 and when prompted press 2 to leave a message.
BREAKFAST AND LUNCH
Breakfast takes place each morning from 8:00-8:25 a.m. If your child is a car rider and plans on eating breakfast, please be sure to allow time for them to eat and leave the dining area by 8:25.

ACADEMIC GROWTH
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Mark your calendars! The first day of school is Tuesday, August 15th! Kindergarten will have two phase-in days, see the information below.
CLASS LIST POSTINGS
Class lists will be posted on Friday, August 4th at 10:00 a.m. on the front doors of Crosby Elementary. If you have not UPDATED your child’s Final Forms by July 28th, their name will NOT be on the list. If you need assistance accessing forms, Ms. Patty will be happy to help! Also, your child’s name will not be on the list if they still owe school fees from LAST school year.
OPEN HOUSE
Mark your calendar for Thursday, August 10th for Open House for Grades K-5. If your child’s last name starts with A-L, we encourage you to attend between 4:00-5:30 p.m. If your child’s last name starts with M-Z, we encourage you to attend between 5:30-7:00 p.m. If for scheduling purposes you need to attend the other session, that is fine, we are just trying to spread out for parking purposes.
Kindergarten will not be doing parent orientation this year, parents and students should plan on attending the regular Open House.
KINDERGARTEN PHASE-IN
We will continue to have phase-in days for kindergarten so that students can learn the routine in a smaller group. Half of the Kindergarten students will start on the 15th and the other half will start on the 16th. Ms. Patty will send a Sign-up genius out on August 4th for you to select which date you prefer. All Kindergarten students will then come to school on Thursday, August 17th.
FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN FEES
For those of you with children in full day Kindergarten, you will be receiving information, probably closer to September, about how to make your payments. This will come from the District Office.

SOCIAL GROWTH
COUNSELING SERVICES
At Crosby Elementary, we have several levels of mental health support for students. Mrs. Lee, our full-time school counselor, is the first line of contact for any of your student’s social or emotional needs. We also partner with Best Point (formally Children’s Home) to offer school therapy to students. Best Point also offers Care Coordination to help parents in the home as well. A Best Point referral can be made by Mrs. Lee or by you as the parent or guardian:

CROSBY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO
One of the best ways for parents to remain involved with their children is through our PTO. We are excited to welcome our families into this organization. Information will be available at Open House.
MISCELLANEOUS
LOST AND FOUND
Please be sure to label items your child brings to school, such as lunch boxes, water bottles, jackets, sweatshirts, or any other item that could potentially end up in the Lost and Found. This year, we will be moving the lost and found to the area under the stairs at the bus dock exit. Our 5th grade leadership team will be organizing and returning items that are labeled. Items not collected at the end of each month will be donated to a local charity.
