Crosby Update

DISTICT GOALS
- Student and staff safety and wellness will be our #1 priority, every day.
- We will academically grow our students 1.5 years via MAP (Fall to Spring).
- 100% of our students will be involved in extracurricular activities- at each building.
- 97% of our students will graduate in 4 years.
- We will treat our facilities with respect and care, daily.
SAFETY (Goal #1)
STUDENT DROP-OFF
Please do not drop-off students before 8:00 a.m. Our staff does not report until 8:00 a.m. and we do not have supervision for students before then.
COVID PROTOCOLS
Thank you for being cautious and keeping your child home when they are not feeling well. We appreciate you helping to control any possible spread in our school.
Also, a reminder that if a family member is being tested, please keep all family members home until a negative test result is confirmed.
If you need to report a COVID case or quarantine, please contact Bethany Mc Bee at 513-728-8526 or at bethany.mcbee@southwestschools.org.
ACADEMIC GROWTH (Goal #2)
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for October 21 and 26. Teachers will be reaching out to see if you prefer a virtual or face-to-face conference. They will then create their own schedules and contact you with your time. If you have any questions regarding conferences, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.
SOCIAL GROWTH (Goal #3)
PLAYGROUND UPATE
Thank you to all that donated to our playground fund last year. Donor bricks have been installed next to the playground area to recognize each of you for your generous donation. Check out the donor bricks here. We are still waiting for the broken stair part to be replaced, fingers crossed it arrives very soon!
CROSBY TRUNK OR TREAT
Mark your calendars for Crosby Elementary’s first Trunk or Treat hosted by our PTO on Friday, October 8th. More information to come. Flyer for Candy Donations
GLEE CLUB

PTO
Thank you to all who joined the PTO! We had a great turn out for our first meeting and are looking forward to implementing some new activities this year. The next PTO Meeting will take place on September 27th at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Dining area.
MOBILE DENTIST
The Mobile Dentist is coming to Crosby on October 5th and 6th! Permission slips will be sent home this week or you can sign up online at https://www.myschooldentist.com/. Don't miss out on the opportunity to have your student receive dental care with ease in the comfort of their own school! Questions/concerns? Email bethany.mcbee@southwestschools.org
FOOD SHORTAGES
Like many other aspects of commerce right now, food service is also experiencing significant product shortages. This in NO WAY means that students will not be able to eat at school on a given day. At the secondary level, students typically have 12-15 entree options and several more options for fruit/veggies, sides, and drinks. Students also have "alternates" available for entrees at the elementary levels (PB&J, pepperoni, turkey, etc.). Some of these may be unavailable due to product shortages from time to time, but we will always have options for food on days that we have school. For example, we heard concerns about a lack of food at the Junior School on Tuesday of this week, yet we had several pounds of taco meat left at the end of service and several other entree options still available as well. We thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility and look forward to the time when these shortages are no longer impacting our ability to serve all students the options that they most desire!
