Crosby Update

It has been a great start to the school year and the students and staff are especially grateful for the air conditioning this week! We are excited to have some of our landscaping planted and are looking forward to having grass planted in mid-September. The rubber surface for the playground is set to arrive next week! It takes two day for installation and two days to cure, so students will hopefully be able to use it the following week! Also, thank you for being patient with us as we worked out our new arrival and drop-off procedures. Not only is everything new this year, but we now have over 700 students to get to and from school. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or ideas to better our school, please don't hesitate to reach out!

ACADEMIC GROWTH (Goal #2)
TESTING
Students in grades K-2 will be AIMSweb testing (reading skills) the week of August 30th to collect benchmark data. This data will be used to guide teachers’ instruction and create Response to Intervention (RTI) groups.
Students in grades 1-5 will be MAP testing the week of September 13th to collect benchmark data on their students in both math and reading. This data will also be used to guide teachers’ instruction and create RTI groups.
RTI
RTI is a system to address students’ individual academic needs. Once data is collected, students are grouped and provided with the skills needed to either fill in gaps or to enrich their educational experience. If you have any questions regarding RTI, your classroom teacher can provide you with specific details.
