FOOD SERVICE- FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH PROGRAM
Southwest Schools prides itself on offering the lowest school lunch prices in the area, while still covering all operational costs associated with our food service program. With that in mind, we do not anticipate raising prices for the 2024-25 school year. As a reminder, if you feel like your family may be eligible for free or reduced lunch prices based on your household income, then you should apply online via the “Food Service” tab of the district website (www.southwestschools.org). Applications for the 2024-25 school year will be open in early- to mid-July. Acceptance into the free or reduced lunch program could also provide other benefits that may include academic fee waivers, holiday church help, or summer EBT program benefits. If you have any questions, please contact Sue Toelke or Adam Lohbeck at (513) 367-4139.
SAFETY
CELL PHONE POLICY
With field trips, field day and other end of year events coming up, we just want to remind parents that we have a no cell phone policy at Southwest Local Schools and at Crosby Elementary. Students are not permitted to use cell phones, smart watches, or any other electronic communication devices on school property or at off-site school sponsored events. The use of these items by students will result in discipline. Also, if you are supervising any of these events, please do not permit students to use your device.

Teachers will be supervising students on the buses to and from. All students will be back at Crosby by 12:00 p.m. Contact your child’s homeroom teacher with any questions.
DID YOU KNOW...
Last week, we shared what enrollment has looked like at SLSD in the last several years. As a reminder, since 2019 we have added 440 new students to the district. The State of Ohio recently released a report where they projected what our district enrollment will look like for the next several years. According to their findings, it's estimated that SLSD will add another 400 more students in the next several years.
We know from our town halls and community surveys that enrollment is an important issue, which is why we think it's important to provide you with all the information we have available. We are committed to ensuring that every student is provided with the high-quality education they deserve as our district continues to expand.
We would love any additional feedback, questions, or concerns from you when it comes to this week's Did You Know!
