Crosby October News

Update

It is hard to believe it is October already. Students are getting used to our new routines and procedures. I want to thank parents for keeping your child home when they are not feeling well. This year, it is especially important to err on the side of caution. Thank you for all of your support to allow us to keep school open!

ADDITIONAL COVID PROTOCOLS
Please email negative COVID results to tessa.freel@southwestschools.org, so that we know when your child may return to school.

Again, students are to stay home until results are back. Also, any siblings should also remain at home until results are final. We are erring on the side of caution so that we can keep our schools open and not have to quarantine large number of students.

If you have any questions regarding COVID protocols, please email tessa.freel@southwestschools.org or joanne.aghotte@southwestschools.org or call them at 513-738-1717.

CAR RIDERS PROTOCOLS
We have made great strides with our drop-off and pick-up, but a few notes to continue to make things run smoothly.

In the morning, we are forming two lines to try to keep traffic off New Haven. Please be extremely cautious of students crossing over from the far lane. The 6 cars in each lane should come to a stop, all students should cross, and then Mr. K will let those cars release- please be patient for the safety of our students.

We have picked up some speed in the afternoon pick-up lane, those of you in the 3:20 and 3:25 groups can start arriving at 3:15, since we seem to be cleared out by that time. Thank you for using your flashers to let us know you have your students in the car, that has been a huge help!

PTA
Next PTA meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 20th at Crosby Elementary at 7:00 p.m.

Correction: Spirit wear Crosby shirts are green as listed on the order form (not blue as the picture shows). Sorry for any confusion.

Halloween Parties: Room parents will be planning for parties, but parties will be run by the classroom teacher only. Students will be permitted to dress up for the party. If you have any questions concerning the party, please contact the PTA at crosbyelempta@gmail.com.

MOCK REMOTE LEARNING DAY
On October 22nd, students and teachers will be participating in a Mock Remote Learning Day at Crosby. Teachers will create all assignments for the day as if students were at home. The teacher will then monitor students and help them with any issues they have as they navigate through the day's work. Our hope is that if at any point we need to go remote, students will have already practiced what the day would look like and will be able to manage it with little support from parents.
