WHHHS Update

Update

We have made it to the end of the first semester and to Winter Break!  Thank you so much for a great first half of the school year, and we look forward to an exciting and impactful second semester.  So far this year, we have seen 230 students earn at least one industry-recognized credential demonstrating workplace readiness, and nearly 75% of our students have been recognized for demonstrating at least one of our four core values (Trust, Respect, Ownership, and Leadership).  Thank you also for everyone who contributed to the Mayor’s Community Fund Food & Clothing Drive these past two weeks…the show of support was amazing and it is a vivid illustration of a strong community.

SECOND SEMESTER BEGINS TUESDAY JANUARY 3

We will begin the second semester when we return on Tuesday, January 3.  Students who had a class one-semester class in the first half of the year will begin a new one-semester class during that same bell.  This will be the case for nearly all students, so students should check their ProgressBook to confirm the bell and location of any new classes that begin on January 3.  Students may check with the Guidance Office when they report to school on the morning of January 3 if they have any questions.

BUILDING ACCESS BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL

As we continue with winter weather, we will continue to use the lobby of the main building for students to stay inside before and after school.  The main lobby is accessible at 6:45 AM for students who are dropped off early or who take the bus to Diamond Oaks.  After school, we are clearing the Activity Center at 3:15 due to winter practices and contests; students should wait for their ride in the lobby of the main building.

HEALTH & WELLNESS INFORMATION

As flu season is in full swing, please remember to keep students home when sick to help prevent spread. Students must be free of fevers, vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours, without the use of medication, before returning to school. Please contact the school if your student will be out. Let’s stay healthy and safe this winter!

CLASS OF 2023 GRADUATION PLAN INFORMATION

The WHHHS Graduation Plan is a collaborative working document developed by the student, his or her teachers and guidance counselor, school administrators, and his/her parents or guardians.  The purpose of the plan is to address the student's selected academic pathway to meet the curriculum requirements and satisfy graduation requirements as specified by Southwest Local Schools and the Ohio Department of Education.  This plan will be evaluated, updated, and revised annually.
