Opt-In Text for Emergency Notifications

Posted on: October 29, 2019
Important Information

On Tuesday, October 29 after 3:00 PM, School Messenger (our mass notification platform) is supposed be sending a test text message to all high school and junior school STUDENT cell numbers who were newly registered or updated this fall.  This would have been done using the link provided in class a couple weeks ago.

For parents, you should have received the opt-in text when you completed your online forms through Final Forms.  If you feel you did not receive the opt-in text, you can text Y to 67587.

It is important that you text back Y (for YES) to opt-in to receive emergency notifications.  Even though you registered your number, if you do not respond to the opt-in text, you will not receive messages.  This is a requirement by the FCC to prevent cell phone spam.  Parents, please ensure that your high school / junior school student does this when they receive the text this afternoon.

Please note that if you have registered your number previously, if there have been no changes, and you have been receiving messages, you will not receive the test text.

We will be doing a full test of the system on Friday afternoon.  More details on that to follow.
