Transportation Update
SLSD pushed out the final transportation update prior to the start of the school year Friday afternoon. Families can again log into their students’ Final Forms accounts via the Abre Student/Parent portal, and click on Forms to view the “Transportation Information” tab with the most up to date transportation information. Once again, we want to thank those parents who have offered to drive students to and/or from school in order to free up space on our seating charts for those who need transportation. We have been able to provide transportation for many families who live within two miles at some of our schools as a result of this and will continue to work to provide transportation for students as we move forward and space on our buses allow for it. If you need to make any changes to your transportation for this school year, please be sure complete a “Transportation Request Form” found under the Transportation tab of our district website and return it to your child’s school or to our district office located in the Harrison High School Media Center.
There were several changes to our original routes for our elementary school midday routes, the addition of some transportation within two miles at Harrison Elementary, and a change in bus numbers for Bus 38 which is now Bus 4 as well as many other more isolated changes in route numbers, times, or stop locations for our students due to capacity or time constraints. Please be sure to log in this weekend to confirm bus numbers and times for your students. As always with the first week of school, please give some grace to our drivers learning new routes, new students, and new procedures and allow for some delays. Trip summaries will be posted on our district website for each school and will be updated with new times, stops, etc. as transportation evolves and we bring more students back on to our buses.
