Update

Congratulations on finishing an awesome 1st Quarter.  This has been one of the best starts to a school year that we have ever had!  We thank our parents and students for the incredible start and look forward to starting the 2nd Quarter strong!

Mission, Motto & Core Values

Last week, we closed out the 1st Quarter with our QUEST program.  I want to once again say Thank You to the American Legion Post 199 for their donation that covered the cost of transporting students across Cincinnati.  Please take a look at our Social Medias to see some of the incredible opportunities that our students could experience.  A special thank you to the following businesses who allowed our students to have a great experience.  Thank you to:

Greystone Farms

Burwinkle Farms

Thunderdome Restaurant Group

Harrison Police Department

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Reds

FC Cincinnati

Great Parks of Hamilton County

Playhouse in the Park

In addition, thank you to the teachers who also created QUESTs in house for our students to participate in.  It was an awesome experience.  We plan to do this the final day of the 3rd Quarter.  If you have feedback as a parent, please respond to this email.  We will continue to look at ways to improve the process from start to finish, and we want to make sure that we continue to improve each and every day.

Harrison High School Open House

On November 9th, Harrison High School will have one of the most important days of the year.  The High School will host an Open House for all future students.  This is an opportunity to see the different programs, activities, clubs, and athletics that your child can be a part of.  In addition, this is a great opportunity for students who may be considering Open Enrollment at the High School to come and visit to check out our programs.  We are really excited to see each of our families at this event!

Academic Progress

This week, we will finalize the students who will be a part of our ELP program.  ELP stands for Extended Learning Program.  This week, we will review 1st Quarter Grades and we have teachers who will partner with different groups of students.  Students involved in ELP will be assigned to work with a teacher after school each Wednesday.  These students can utilize the Activity Bus to get close to home.  Students in ELP may earn their way out of ELP by maintaining all passing grades at the mid-term point of the 2nd Quarter.  If you have questions regarding ELP, please reply to this email and we will direct it to the correct person.

Social Growth

Thank you to our Athletes and Coaches for an awesome Fall Sports Season.  Wildcats were SWOC champions in Girls Cross Country, 7th Grade Volleyball, 8th Grade Volleyball and 7th Grade Football.  8th Grade Football and Boys Cross Country finished 2nd in the SWOC.  An incredible job and a statement on our program development!

As we enter the Winter Sports Seasons we want students to continue to get involved.  Please contact Mr. McBee with any questions regarding Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Wrestling, and we are excited about offering a new club sport of Junior School swimming.  Be on the lookout for more information regarding Winter Sports.  Remember, students who are involved have more success in school!

Communication

Just a friendly reminder to our families, if you are contacting teachers or staff, our goal is to respond within 24 business hours.  If you do not get a response, please let me know directly and I will follow up with the correct person.  It is important to us that we continue to build on the foundation of communication that is in place.  Speaking of which, please look for our next parent email blast to come out the week of October 10th.  We will continue to post other updates on Social Media and via school announcements too.

Thank You

Thank you for being a part of our school community!  We continue to appreciate the support of our parents, community leaders, local churches and others as we create an awesome environment for our students.
