Ground Breaking

On Friday, August 23, 2019 the Southwest Local School District broke ground on three new elementary schools and one new middle school that, when complete, will provide a modern learning environment for students in grades pre-K through 8.

Our “Facilities for the Future” project has been years in the making, and was planned and designed with parent, student, teacher and community involvement.  We are grateful to the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission for co-funding the project.  Our design team includes architecture firm, SHP Leading Design, and construction managers, Skanska / Megen.

When the buildings open for classes in August 2021, they will offer an educational environment like nothing this community has seen, benefiting our students as they prepare to enter the Ohio workforce in the coming years.
