Renaissance

By Joey & Kim

The word "Renaissance" comes from the Latin word rinascere and refers to the act of being reborn.  Renaissance was a great cultural movement that began in Italy during the early 1300's.  It spread to England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and other countries.  The Renaissance overlapped the end period in European history called the Middle Ages, which began in the 400's.
