Saint Patrick

Saint Patrick was born in 387AD in Britain, and he died in 493AD.  He was born to a wealthy family.  Saint Patrick was kidnapped at the age of 16 by the Irish.  He was a shepherd and later spread Christianity to the people of Ireland. He lived to be very old, but he was well known and he is known through out the world, and there is now a holiday named after him, Saint Patrick’s Day.  He also found the first Irish church and became the first bishop.

St. Patrick

  Saint Patrick

This day I call to me:
God's strength to direct me,
God's power to sustain me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's vision to light me,
God's ear to my hearing,
God's word to my speaking,
God's hand to uphold me,
God's pathway before me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's legions to save me.

· He spread the message of Christianity throughout the island and set up many new churches.
·
After he returned home he accomplished most of his miracles.
·
Also when he returned home he took up his studies in the priesthood with faith of  returning to Ireland and become a missionary to his captors.
· He taught most of his education to himself.
· He spent twenty years of his life as a monk in Marmoutier Abbey.
· He baptized chiefs and kings and converted whole clans.
· The idea of spreading Christianity to Ireland came from one of his dreams, so he thought to take the risk and try it, and it worked.
