The Emperor Justinian I

Justinian I was the most famous Byzantine emperor.  Justinian I was also known as Justinian the Great.  He is most famously known for writing down his code of law.  In 527 he was co-emperor with his uncle.  Four months later his uncle died and Justinian was crowned sole emperor with his wife Theodora.  His code of laws was very confusing because some were out of date and they were never found in complete form. Justinian’s code had four different books.  Our government today mainly focuses on the first two books of Justinian’s code, which are The Book of Persons, and The Book of Things.  Justinian was a great builder also and was easily the best ruler ever in Byzantine.
