Educators - I'd like to make you aware of an upcoming free program at the Harrison Branch Library.  4C for Children (a resource organization for child development) is presenting Understanding Autism on Mon., Oct. 26 at 7:00 p.m.

The presentation will provide an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorders, present data about whether the numbers of children diagnosed with ASD are increasing, and a discussion of the latest research on possible causes of ASD.  This program is appropriate for both educators and parents, so please tell any interested parents about it as well.

Understanding Autism is free, but we are requesting advance registration.  Please send an email (maria.bach@cincinnatilibrary.org) or call (665-2820) to sign up.

 Miami University once again is offering workshops and summer PD with the Ohio Writing Project.

www.muohio.edu/owp Teachers receive credit and there are scholarships that guaranteed 50% tuition discount to all educators. All workshops also apply to the OWP Master of Arts in Teaching program.

 

 

ProgressBook Help:
Just to remind you that if you need assistance with Progressbook, there are very helpful online videos that can help you put in grades, do lesson planning etc...one stop shopping really. To access go to http://www.hccanet.org/
 1) Look at the top (gray bar) and click on "student services"
2) Scroll down to "manual" and click
3) Click on "progressbook"
4) you then choose "teacher videos" and will see a whole bunch of videos to choose from.

 All the forms you need are in interactive PDF format - which means you can just type right into them as you work through the process, save onto your computer and continue to work that way. 
You only need to complete forms: CD (all 4 of the criteria),  G (need two recommendations),  H
 Forms J, K are to help you....  
The deadline for this year is Jan 5, but if you are at all interested in doing this down the road...why not start now and continue working on it when you have time throughout this year and into next summer...  
Also, if there are other people in your building who are interested, I encourage you to form a master team group so you can work on things together....I think it will be easier and more fun that way too! from Meg Graham

Be sure to try the Search function at the top right corner of any page to locate specific information, and Quick Links for some of the most requested pages, including licensure applications, academic content standards and educator profile tool.
  • Access lesson plans, assessments and other teaching tools through Ohio's Instructional Management System. IMS is Ohio’s Web-based source to help teachers creatively teach Ohio’s academic content standards to improve student achievement in Ohio. To use the IMS, click here.
