Status
Ben Wilder and Sara Swartout, both
seniors at William Henry Harrison High School, have been
named National Merit Semifinalists. This is an honor
that allows them to advance to National Merit Finalist

Sara is the daughter of Jeff and Linda Swartout and Ben
is the son of Mark and Diane Wilder.
Senior Julie Warders has also achieved
“Commended Student” status of the National Merit

More than 1.5 million juniors in
22,000 high schools entered the 2010 National Merit
Scholarship Program by taking the 2008 Preliminary
SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Sara and Ben scored better than 99 percent of all the
Ohio students who took the PSAT test in their junior
year.
Nationally, the semifinalists represent less than 1
percent of high school seniors.
