[I made the screenshot above by (1) hitting the Print Scrn key on the keyboard, (2) getting into my Word Document, and (3) selecting Edit - Paste. Try it, this is an easy way to show people what the screen should look like.]
Tips
- Slide Layout is used to have different slide looks or styles. There are many to select from so mix it up a bit.
- To change colors or backgrounds, select Format - Slide Background or Color Scheme. You can even add an image (for the background) at this point.
- Color tips- keep it simple, blue backgrounds with white or yellow letters have proven to be best in many situations. Remember that what you see and how it might be projected on the bigger screen can be different.
- To make a second/third/etc. slide go to Insert - New Slide.
- Try an opening slide, body/text slides, summarization slides/closing slide.
- After you make the slides go to View - Slide Sorter - and then select Transitions and Effects. (I will demonstrate this.)
- Transition is the way the slide opens.
- Effect is the way the information on each slide will appear.
- To see how this works go to View - Slide Show. Hit the space bar to view each slide's transition and effects.
- When it goes through the show it will return you to the PowerPoint Program.
